Duluth, Minnesota - Shown is retired sailor Patrick John McMillen, 62, as he sweeps the floor at the Modern Bar and Grill. McMillen, who sailed the ocean for 45 years before he retired last November, is only a handful of votes short of winning nomination to Congress on a platform of legalized gambling. He surprised everybody when he fought Cloquet Mayor Roy W. Ranum to a photo finish for nomination, only 134 votes behind with still a number of precincts not heard from.
