In Seattle, Washington, Reverend Kellems, 45, Oklahoma rancher, adventurer and evangelist, and his daughter, Vivienne, 21, plot a "Northwest passage" circuit of the North American continent in their 38-foot vessel, the Pandora. From here, they sail to San Francisco, then through the Panama Canal to New York, thence back to Seattle by way of the Arctic ice pack.
