1978 Press Photo Youngsters assist Hilton general manager collect fountain coins
All six fountains at the New Orleans Hilton -- which have been blanketed with coins over a six-month period -- are collected by two youngsters from Children's Hospital. Joseph F. Frederick Junior, general manager of the hotel, gives advice to the coin gatherers, "Bumper" Bush and Leslie Howard, who got right into the act. "Bumper" is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Peyton Bush and Leslie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Howard. The fountains are stripped of coins every six months and the hundreds of coins were presented to the children for the local hospital.
