Description
Stock prices less than a minute old, which passed through a "memory bank" in Stamford, Connecticut, are reported here from the New York Stock Exchange and move along the topmost panel. This view, in the board room of the Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated stock brokerage, also shows portions of boards with American Stock Exchange prices, commodity prices, the Dow Jones news board and television screens with a variety of other stock figures. The "Big Board" figures are displayed by a "transjet" system involving small jets of air, tiny movable discs and ultraviolet light.
