Description
General Dwight D. Eisenhower (right) is all smiles today after getting a promise of a square deal from Representative Joseph W. Martin, Jr., (left) of Massachusetts, the permanent chairman of the Republican national convention opening tomorrow. Martin said he told Eisenhower "everyone will have a fair chance," but he wouldn't talk about the big dispute between Eisenhower and Senator Robert A. Taft over changing convention rules concerning contested delegates.
