Captain J.R. Willingham (above), of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, leader of a flight of Thunderbolts, is credited with the capture in France of more than 300 Germans. He circled over them in his fighter plane and herded them toward an Allied armored column where the Germans, waving white flags, were taken prisoner.
