Sea World of Texas' first-ever flamingo hatchling emerged from its shell following a 30-day incubation period, weighing less than open pound and measuring 4 to 6 inches in height. The chick is one of several hatched at the 250-acre park in recent weeks, joining an extensive collection of tropical and native birds that includes almost 100 flamingos representing two species, the Chilean and African Lesser.
