Description
The arrest of Nikolai Petkov, chief of the opposition to the Communists in Bulgaria has aroused fears in Western Diplomatic Circles that a Communist campaign similar to that that brought Hungary under Moscow Domination is now in full swing here in direct answer to President Truman's Doctrine for halting the spread of communism. Meanwhile in Hungary, Communist Chief Matthias Rakosi has boasted that the "Iron-fisted Communist Party" has seized the government "before the U.S. could rub its eyes."
